Rainbow Menopause Film is live!

Rainbow Menopause Film is live!

We are excited that last week, 3rd March in Cardiff we held a well attended premiere of our film alongside our Partners, Iris Outreach and fellow Iris filmakers, Glitter Cymru!

Our film explores the varied menopause experiences within the LGBTQ+ community, aiming to encourage conversation and increase awareness. We thank those who shared their personal stories, acknowledging we weren’t able to represent all experiences in our short film.

This initiative seeks to break the silence on menopause, urging viewers to seek support and share their journeys without shame.

We invite you to join the discussion by attending a screening, sharing your story, and help expand our understanding of menopause in the LGBTQ+ community.

Remember though, this film is informative but not a substitute for professional advice.

GET INVOLVED!

LGBTQ+ experiences of menopause are under-represented in the public menopause conversation with few relatable resources available to inform and reduce a sense of isolation in experiencing menopause. As a result, LGBTQ+ people may fee mainstream menopause conversations are not for them and feel reluctant to reach out for support.

To help redress this imbalance and raise awareness of menopause amongst people in the queer community, we want to document the diversity of experiences. So - we’re very excited to have opportunity to work with the amazing Iris Film Prize to create a short film about LGBTQ+ menopause experiences. The film will capture real life perspectives from people across Wales, as well as expert input from academics and health professionals.
